All polymers are compounded in a class 100K clean room using a Leistritz twin screw extruder - a ZSE 27 MAXX – 40 L/D. This extruder is capable of outputs up to 120 kg per hour. The compounder is fed by four K-Tron gravimetric dosing units, each one capable of feeding granules or powders.

The compound is then pelletised either via a Gala underwater pelletiser or a Rieter strand pelletiser.

The compounding process is controlled by a Siemens Macromatex S7 Professional (S7 PLC) motion controller. This controller enables accurate diagnostics, batch control and data storage as well as consistent feeding and dosing accuracy from as low as ±0.1% deviation to ensure product consistency throughout the batch. It also provides complete recordings of process parameters for each batch produced along with full raw material traceability.

IPC’s in-house test laboratory is fully equipped and up-to-date. Machinery available for the preparation of test specimens include an Arburg Allrounder 320C injection moulding machine, a Brabender Plasticorder with single screw extrusion and mixing head capabilities and a Servitec
Compression press.
