From the facility, which was set up in 2008 and is certified to ISO 13485 and ISO 9001, IPC processes a wide range of polymers on behalf of medical device manufacturers all over Europe. Polymers with which the company is most familiar include Arkema’s Rilsan, Pebax and Kynar, Lubrizol and BASF’s TPU’s, EMS’s Grilamid range, DuPont’s Surlyn, Evonik’s Vestamid and Solvay’s Solef and Hylar PVDF. IPC compounds these polymers with other polymers, pigments, radiopaque fillers such as barium sulphate or bismuth oxychloride and more recently, antimicrobial additives.
The company performs its own colour matching using a base range of US-FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved pigments, which achieves tighter and more consistent colour tolerances as well as short lead times for coloured compounds to Pantone, Munsell or RAL references.
